Epiphany Prayer Chain for Incarcerated Teen Girls

We have a special opportunity for our children and youth to support a new ministryEpiphany, serving teen girls incarcerated at the Chatham County Correctional Facility. On March 21, Epiphany will hold a one-day retreat that includes worship, singing, Bible study, talks, discussion, meals, and a powerful session on forgiveness.

Our children and youth are invited to create a prayer chain that will be displayed during the retreat as a visible sign of love and prayer support.

To participate, please:

  • Use colored construction paper only (no black or white).

  • Cut strips 1½ inches wide along the short side of an 8½ x 11 sheet.

  • Have each child or youth write their first name on a strip.

Because we are not allowed to know the girls’ names ahead of time, these first names will remind them that children and youth are praying for them. Suggested prayers include:

  • Lord, help these girls know that you love them.

  • Lord, help these girls believe in you.

  • Lord, help these girls make good friends.

  • Lord, help these girls forgive others who have hurt them.

  • Lord, help these girls make good choices even when it’s hard.

Please return all prayer chain strips by March 15 to Debbie Black so that they can be mailed to the Epiphany team before the retreat.

Thank you for helping our young people share Christ’s love with these teen girls in such a meaningful way.
